KUALA LUMPUR – 14 March 2013 - Yes, one of the most advanced 4G networks in the world, today announced a revolutionary partnership with Konsortium Transnasional Berhad, Malaysia’s largest and widest express bus service, to bring the award-winning Yes 4G network to passengers on all of KTB’s nationwide new NICE Imperial, NICE coaches, Plusliner and Transnasional bus lines, via mobile 4G Wi-Fi hotspots to be installed in KTBs buses.
Yes’s 4G Wi-Fi service will enable KTB passengers to enjoy high-quality, high-speed mobile internet on any Wi-Fi-enabled device, including laptops, iPhones, iPads and Android phones and tablets. Passengers on select KTB lines will also be able to enjoy Yes Wi-Fi service on Android tablets made available by KTB.
Each NICE passenger can try out Yes 4G via Wi-Fi free of charge, up to 30 megabytes – enough to stream about 10 songs, download about 30 photos, or read about 400 emails. To continue enjoying Yes 4G, passengers may purchase 500 megabyte temporary Yes IDs for the special launch celebration price of only RM 5, at KTB ticket counters or onboard the bus. Passengers who are already Yes 4G customers may also use their Yes IDs to access Yes 4G via Wi-Fi while onboard.
“Konsortium Transnasional Berhad strives every day to improve not only the quality of our transportation services, but also to raise the level of experience and enjoyment for our passengers. This partnership to make Yes 4G’s powerful network freely available to all our passengers will make every trip seem even shorter and be more enjoyable by allowing them to be entertained and productive, ” said Dato’ Sri Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh, Chairman and Managing Director of Konsortium Transnasional Berhad.
“We chose Yes 4G because of their proven track record, and unmatched Yes 4G coverage along the expressways, allowing for constant connectivity for even the lengthiest of journeys. We are confident that passengers will be delighted with the new service, which KTB will use as the foundation to bring even more new innovations that raise customer satisfaction and the standard of bus traveling to the highest in the region,” continued Dato’ Sri Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh.
“We applaud KTB for their unparalleled leadership in adopting new services that enhance not only the experiences of passengers on the bus, but also their lives. They share our unwavering faith and belief that constant access to 4G Internet service of the best quality, the highest speed, and the greatest value must be within the reach of every Malaysian, everywhere, all the time. Now, everyone on the road can enjoy Malaysia’s Fastest Mobile Internet with speeds up to 20 Mbps. We compliment KTB for their bold vision and clear understanding of their customers’ needs,” said Dato’ Yeoh Seok Hong, Executive Director of YTL Communications Sdn Bhd.
“Together, we have made this service accessible. Every Wi-Fi-enabled device can now enter our Yes 4G network, including iPhones, iPads, iPods, Android phones and tablets, and laptops. Together, we have made this service easy. Once passengers have their Yes ID, they can enjoy our Yes 4G network both on and off the bus, on any of our devices – and, soon, on one of thousands of Yes 4G Wi-Fi hotspots across the country.
